Questions before your journey
Frequently Asked
Questions
General
1. How do I book an appointment?
2. Do I need to know which Yantra I want?
No.
Every Sak Yant at Sor.mantrarak begins with a personal consultation.
If you’re unsure which Yantra is right for you, our Ajarn will guide you through the available options and recommend the most appropriate Yantra based on your intentions, circumstances, and personal journey.
3. Can women receive Sak Yant?
Yes.
Women are welcome to receive Sak Yant at Sor.mantrarak.
Our Ajarn perform Sak Yant within a traditional samnak (ashram), where the restrictions associated with monks do not apply. Every ceremony is conducted with the same respect, guidance, and authenticity for every guest.
4. Where can Sak Yant be placed?
Traditionally, Sak Yant is placed above the waist, with common locations including the back, chest, shoulders, and arms.
During your consultation, the Ajarn will discuss suitable placement based on the Yantra, traditional considerations, and your individual circumstances.
The Ceremony
1. Is every Sak Yant hand-poked?
Yes.
Every Sak Yant at Sor.mantrarak is traditionally hand-poked using the Khem Sak, preserving authentic methods that have been passed down through lineage for generations.
2. How long does the experience take?
The duration depends on the Yantra being received.
Every appointment includes consultation, preparation, the Sak Yant ceremony, blessing, professional photography, and aftercare guidance.
Small and medium Sak Yant generally take around 20–40 minutes, while larger Yantra vary depending on their complexity.
3. Can I bring someone with me?
Yes.
Friends and family are welcome to accompany you.
To maintain a respectful environment during the ceremony, observers may be asked to wait outside the Sak Yant room while the Ajarn is working.
